My brother has leukemia. Can I, as a private individual, organize a registration event?
We are pleased when a private engagement involves the registration of voluntary non-relative donors. Please note that with such an event, the registered individuals should be available for all patients.
We would like to hold our anniversary celebration as a charity event to benefit those that suffer from leukemia. What are the options for this?
We think your idea is great. Many ill people who suffer from leukemia need a blood stem cell donor. Why not organize your annual celebration as a registration event and invite the staff and their families. We would be happy to help!
What financial consideration can I expect for my donation?
The donation of blood stem cells is voluntary and comes from a solidarity with sick fellow human beings. For ethical reasons, blood stem cell donation is as blood donation made without financial consideration.
However, the full amounts of laboratory, doctor and hospital costs are covered. In addition, direct out of pocket expenses and loss of salary is reimbursed in case the employer doesn't do so.
